What is the solution to losses?
No single organisation can truly claim to be able to fix these problems in their entirety. However, every Brewer, Wholesaler, logistics provider and retail outlet has a part to play. The fact that as a Brewer you have a wealth of knowledge, skill and desire to avoid the negative impact that this has on profitability is not in question. But if you could reduce each of these negative costs in your annual profit and loss account by 50%, what impact would that have on your bottom line?.
Will I be able to see a containers location at all times?
Containers are tracked according to where you select to place reading technology within your supply chain. In the initial stages, local scanning at the brewery is usually the minimum standard, meaning that containers are not visible again until they return to a scan point in a brewery. However, even just this initial phase implementation with partial tagging can answer the three burning questions of how large is my asset population, what is my loss rate, and what are the container cycle times. Clients then move on to deeper phases, more containers are tagged and further technology (portable in some cases) is installed to enable more read points. The gold standard is obviously 100%, which would then incorporate POD (Proof of Delivery) at the delivery and customer level and through the containers return to the production facility. How far into the supply chain you want to introduce scanning should always be a function of what you would do with the information you gain, and would you action it for return.
My staff are paid to control this issue, are you just adding further cost?
No. By adopting the solution you can actually redeploy manual resource currently used to track assets. Plus, we can offer insights and experience as to how effective and accurate your existing manual models are. Our objective is to reduce your loss and increase your profitability.
A tag would not prevent theft
A tag or barcode in itself is not designed to be a direct anti-theft device; it is how the information the tag will gather is used that helps prevent theft. By tracking locations, patterns and problematic supply chain areas, we have successfully helped clients prevent large scale thefts.
If I do have an issue with a channel/client, can I add additional technology?
Absolutely - as mentioned previously we have portable or permanent modules that can be used as and where necessary.
We have a deposit scheme, so what else can Visibility give me?
Visibility can enhance that scheme by providing complete traceability of each individual container / asset. Additionally Visibility can automatically support a deposit or alternative accountability scheme, and with our unique RFID technology, bulk loads of containers inbound and outbound can also be managed, which has been an economic and operational limitation of technology in this area for many years. Visibility also provides other benefits such as preventative maintenance and quality improvement and supply chain optimisation.
